Petro de Luanda and Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless draw in their CAF Champions League Group C match at the Estadio 11 de Novembro.
Petro De Luanda 0-0 Kaizer Chiefs
Petro goalkeeper Dominique had to be alert in the 12th minute to deny his team conceding an own goal.
It was Chiefs with the early intent, as they pushed hard for the away win, but as the half wore on Petro began to control the tempo of the half, and saw more of the ball.
However with neither team able to get a shot on target, it was goalless at halftime.
There was a close call for Chiefs five-minutes into the second half as Daniel Akpeyi struggled to hold onto a ball from a long free kick, but Chiefs were able to clear their lines.
Lebogang Manyama went close for Chiefs in the 62nd minute, but his free kick attempt went narrowly wide. Eight minutes later another Manyama attempt was well cleared by a defender as his shot looked goal bound.
But in the end, Petro held on for the draw and their first point in Group C.
Chiefs remain 3rd, but move onto 5 points, the same as Horoya, who drew with Wydad Casablanca at the same time.
