Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates drew 1-1 at the DHL Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.
Baroka and Stellenbosch ended with the same score in match that kicked off earlier.
Pirates grabbed the lead in the 13th minute with a good headed attempt from Happy Jele, as he got to Vincent Pule’s cross ahead of Hugo Marques.
Neverdie Makhubela was off target in the 20th minute, while Thami Mkhize couldn’t get his header on target on the half hour mark.
Terence Dzvukamanja forced a save out of Marques in the 38th minute, while two minutes later Mdu Mdantsane went close with a long range attempt, but it flew just over. Bandile Shandu shot wide just before half-time, and at the break Pirates led 1-0.
City were awarded a penalty in the 52nd minute after a handball from Olisa Ndah. Mdantsane stepped up and made no mistake.
Fortune Makaringe shot wide in the 56th minute, while Tshegofatso Mabasa’s attempt in the 69th minute went straight to Marques.
Abdul Ajagun attempt in the 89th minute was deflected wide, while Taariq Fielies’ unmarked header from the resulting corner was off target. Goodman Mosele lacked power with his attempt in the 90th minute and Marques made a simple save.
Khanyiso Mayo’s shot in stoppage time was on target, but Jele was able to intercept and deflect it behind, while moments later Mpho Makola shot just over, and in the end the teams had to settle for a point a piece.
Baroka 1-1 Stellenbosch
Meanwhile Baroka and Stellenbosch drew 1-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Stellenbosch took the lead in the 10th minute, with Ashley Du Preez following up after Stanley Dimgba’s initial effort was saved. Baroka though were level ten minutes later as Bennet Bobete got himself onto the scoresheet.
