Davids Opens Up On Working With Ncikazi
Fadlu Davids has opened up on working together with Mandla Ncikazi, as the duo could lead the club following the resignation of Josef Zinnbauer.
The 40-year-old represented Pirates at SuperSport’s launch of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign after Josef Zinnbauer resigned on Monday.
Davids has been with the club since joining as assistant coach in January 2019 and will now seemingly step forward together with Mandla Ncikazi to fill the void on the sidelines.
He says the duo are working closely together, knowing each other from the past, and have a similar coaching philosophy.
“Perfect, we’ve come a long way. We’e worked together before. We have the same football idea,” he said.
“That makes it easy to understand and work with and implement immediately as (we had) two training sessions now.
“And so far so good.”
Davids also insisted that Zinnbauer’s departure didn’t change the club’s targets for the upcoming campaign.
“We know the expectations of Orlando Pirates and we take that on our shoulders,” he added.
“Us as a technical team and the players we know what our targets are and we are going to go for it full force.”
