Orlando Pirates co-assistant coach Fadlu Davids has sent a warning to Mamelodi Sundowns, saying the league is far from over and his side will compete for every trophy there is.
The Baccaneers, though, have already been knocked out of MTN 8 after they lost 2-1 to Swallows FC in the quarter-finals as the defending champions.
However, Davids promised his side will all of the other silverware available, with the coaching duo to prepare the players as much as possible, which in return will hopefully lead the club to lift the trophy.
“No you cannot write the league off. The league is not won after a game like this, definitely for sure not,” Davids told reporters.
“And Sundowns, they cannot put their name on each trophy. It is not us as Orlando Pirates as a brand, we are going to fight for each trophy that’s available. We’ll go out right up until the end of each tournament we are still in.
“By no means are we giving up and saying everything is done, Mamelodi Sundowns already have won, no!
“We have to look at ourselves, look at the process we are in, but for sure we are going to fight for each trophy that’s available.”
