The South African National Women’s League kicked off on Saturday as seven games were played across the country.
All in all 32 goals were scored in the seven matches played on the day.
Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns got off to a winning start, and sent a warning signs to the other teams, as they beat Golden Ladies 4-0
There were also wins for Tsumani Queens, who beat Coal City Wizards 4-1, Thunderbirds Ladies, who beat Durban Ladies 2-0, First Touch Academy, who ran away 6-3 winners over Richmond United, and JVW, who beat Ma-Indies 5-1.
The University of Johannesburg drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic, while TUT and UWC played to a 2-2 draw in the televised game.
The second round of fixtures are scheduled for the 1st of May.
