Hunt – It’s Not About What They Look Like…

After holding DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw, Chippa United Gavin Hunt says they had to do what they had to get points.

While many had predicted a win for Sundowns, Chippa frustrated them and there were very few clear cut opportunities for Masandawana, though there weren’t really any for the home team either.

Speaking after the game, Hunt said he can’t complain after getting a draw against the ‘best team in the country’

“Ja I thought there was no danger in terms of, we said we had to play, do what we had to do,” Hunt said after the draw.

“And obviously, it was important for us to play a little bit on the turnover and one of the couple times in the first half, we had two good chances, a little bit more, I don’t think they had a shot at goal, I don’t think our keeper made a save.

“So, against the best team in the country, you got to be saying… phwah, you know… as I always say, everybody thinks they got the best looking girlfriend, but it’s not about what they look like it’s about what’s it about, and we need to get points.

“So we got to do our own thing, we’re not competing with them.”

Hunt was pleased to get the point…

“Of course, it’s crucial,” he continued.

“I mean, for a club of this size, with what we’ve got, every point is crucial, and then we can just take one game at a time and go from there.”
