SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt wants to remain at the club next season with his contract set to expire next month.
Hunt has opened talks with Matsatsansa over a new deal despite recent interest in his services from Sekhukhune United, as per SABC Sport.
Having returned to the club in 2022 for a second stint, he led them to a third-place finish, CAF Confederation Cup group stages, which culminated in an underpar domestic campaign in the 2023/24 season with a seventh placed finish.
However, the four-time league winner is keen to continue the project at the club with his youthful squad and take them back into Africa.
“Am I [being linked with other clubs]? Why is it because I have the CAF A License to sit on the bench now? Haha. No there’s been a lot [of talk] but when you come here into the course you get tucked away a little bit from reality,” he said after graduating on Friday.
“But I will get back into things this afternoon and we [the coaches] will get back into what’s going on and there’s not much going on at the moment.
“Obviously, I want to get in CAF with SuperSport, where I am now, we missed it this year by one point, which is frustrating but it is what it is you know.”
Hunt won three league titles with SuperSport and one with the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.
