South African Football Association President Dr Danny Jordan has confirmed the CAF presidential nomination of Billionaire Mamelodi Sundowns Owner Dr Patrice Motsepe.
Motsepe was reported to have been interested to run for the position of CAF president against current leader Ahmad Ahmad, who is seeking to be re-elected for another term.
Motsepe’s nomination would have had to be rubberstamped by his national association (SAFA) in order for his candidacy to be valid.
Speaking at a media press conference Dr Jordaan confirmed that SAFA has sent through nomination documents which will arrive in Cairo just in time before the closing date for nominations on Tuesday, 12 November 2020
Dr Motsepe also received endorsements from three national associations namely Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Botswana.
CAF Presidential Elections will be held in March 2021.
