Maritzburg United host Chippa United in the DStv Premiership on Saturday evening, and while Ayabulela Konqobe knows it will be tough at Harry Gwala Stadium, the visitors are targeting three points.
The former Amajita captain say the team have been working hard on their weaknesses during the break, and he says the team is focussed on improving their season.
Konqobe joined Chippa in January, for what is his second spell at the club.
Chippa are currently 13th on the log, while Maritzburg are 14th – both teams are on 20 points, and have the same goal difference, though Chippa have scored more goals. However The Team of Choice do have a game in hand.
“Ja, I think it’s gonna be another tough game,” Konqobe told the club’s media department, “obviously we know Maritzburg has been doing very well at their stadium the last couple of games.”
“But I also believe that as us the team, we’ve been more focused on ourselves, working together and pushing very hard.”
“So I think, like I said, it will be a tough game going there. But we need results and we need to win, so I think everyone who is in the camp knows what they have to do.”
“So at training we’ve been working a lot on our defending, I think that’s what’s also been killing us. I think also starting the game pretty well. We’ve also had a few bad starts, but I think, as I said earlier, we have been working on all our weaknesses.”
“And I think, like I said, this game is going to be another good, tough game.”
