Lekay – Mbombela Is Our Fortress

TS Galaxy forward Wayde Lekay says the club are looking to make Mbombela Stadium a home fortress this season, as they prepare to host Golden Arrows this weekend.

After the FIFA international break, domestic football is set to return this weekend, with all the teams in action except for AmaZulu, SuperSport United, Marumo Gallants and Cape Town. This is due to Usuthu’s participation in the CAF Champions League, and Gallants participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Galaxy drew 0-0 with Kaizer Chiefs in their opening game of the season, but lost away to Stellenbosch in their second match, and are looking to pick up maximum points against Arrows on Saturday.

Lekay says the team gain confidence playing at the ‘beautiful’ Mbombela Stadium…

“Ja, you know it’s always nice going to Mbombela Stadium, it’s a beautiful stadium,” Lekay told the club’s media department.

“And from that we gain a lot of confidence. I mean, we made it a point, we don’t want to lose any of our games at home.

“So if we can go there and get the result, that’s the important part. You know, it’s nice to play at home. Unfortunately, there’s no fans, we can’t say we like to play in front of our home crowd.

“But hopefully that will be soon. But nonetheless, we go there, full confidence and we plan to win as much games as we can.

So every game we’re going there to win, and especially at home, that’s our fortress.”
