Chippa United head coach Kurt Lentjies says their Nedbank Cup opponents AmaTuks will be motivated playing against a top flight side, and last season’s finalists.
Chippa were drawn to play away against the University of Pretoria in Wednesday’s draw for the Nedbank Cup.
Lentjies says he does not know too much about the current AmaTuks side, but says they will do their homework before next month’s game.
The rookie coach also says that while they reached last season’s final, they must not think it will be easy to get there again.
“The University of Pretoria, away from home, always a tough fixture,” Lentjies told the club’s media department.
“Ja, obviously they will be motivated that they’re playing a PSL Team.
“Can’t say I know much about them but obviously we have the time to have a look and do our video analysis, and see what they’re about, but it’s more important what we do on the field of play.
“So ja, obviously we prepare well for the game. Looking forward to getting the season started obviously with the Nedbank Cup. So ja, even though last season, we went all the way to the final, I don’t think we should think that it is going to be easy to get there again.
“Like I said, we want to win every game on offer that’s there to win. So ja, we’ll just take one game at a time and prepare well for this fixture.
“So ja, obviously we excited to start so we just focusing on what we need to do as a team and then we take it from there.”
