Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Isaac Mabotsa has predicted a cautious approach in Saturday’s Soweto Derby.
Orlando Pirates will play host to Kaizer Chiefs in the first-leg of the MTN8 semi-finals on Saturday afternoon, and Mabotsa believes that there will be a lack of motivation to perform.
This is due to the fact that there won’t be supporters in the stadium to put pressure on the players, and Mabotsa believes it will have a direct impact on the result.
“The derby is a different ball game, even though Chiefs won during the week and Pirates only managed a draw, ultimately this upcoming encounter will finish as a draw,” he told iDiski Times.
“The players get most of their motivation from the supporters, without them, it’s gonna be a different ball game, hence I am predicting a draw.”
The former Amakhosi defender also justified his prediction by saying that the due to it being a two-legged affair, there will be caution from both sides in order to stay in the game for the second-leg.
Chiefs and Pirates have not won the MTN8 in the last six seasons. The last club to win the cup between the two Soweto giants was Chiefs in back in 2014, while Pirates last won it in 2011.
