Cape Town City’s veteran midfielder Mpho Makola will remain at the club next season, having extended his contact until June 2022.
“Makola has signed a new contract with us. So he will be with us in the new season,” John Comitis told media at a press conference earlier this month.
And their social media department confirmed the news this week.
City, who have Eric Tinkler back at the club in charge, finished seventh on the DStv Premiership. Tinkler returns for his second stint at the club, having been in charge during the 2016/2017 season.
While Makola was not at City then, he and Tinkler do have a good history, having worked together at Orlando Pirates during Tinkler’s time in charge at the Soweto giants.
The 35 year old featured in 25 league matches for City this past campaign, scoring once.
