Chippa United Head Coach Dan Malesela says they will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
Malesela says that after two consecutive losses in the DStv Premiership, they will be looking to redeem themselves against their GladAfrica Championship opponents, and reach the semi-finals.
Malesela, who has won this trophy as both a player and a coach before, feels Chippa have not being playing badly, but they have been struggling to get goals.
“We find ourselves in a situation where we just come from two losses, in the league, and, obviously, we trying to redeem ourselves through the Nedbank Cup, you know, and also try to start getting to winning ways again, you know, and hopefully, with this game that will be that,” Malesela said in the digital pre-match presser.
“The thing is that they are not playing as we are playing, we are playing a whole lot of matches back to back, you know, midweek, weekend, and they’ll be probably fresher. I don’t want to speak on their behalf.”
“But we will try and make adjustments and see how we can handle this team because we have a bit of an idea as to how they played against Kaizer Chiefs, and also their last last game against TS Sporting.”
“So we probably will base a lot of the things based on that and see how we can counter that, and even play better than what we did in the past games, it’s not like we were playing that bad, it’s just that we were not scoring. So we are hoping this time around, we’ll be able to score.”
