Marumo Gallants Progress In CAFCC

Marumo Gallants are comfortably through to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Equatorial Guinea’s Futuro Kings 3-0 on Friday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, to win their preliminary round tie 4-2 on aggregate.

Gallants had lost the first leg 2-1 in Equatorial Guinea, with Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo scoring an important away goal.

It meant that when Celimpilo Ngema opened the scoring in the 27th minute for the home team, they were already in the driving seat.

The diminutive Ngema, who first made his mark at Uthongathi, doubled the lead in the second half, when he completed his brace in the 65th minute, to give Gallants a 3-2 advantage on aggregate.

And Thabo Mnyamane made sure of the result when he added to the score in the 80th minute. 4-2 on aggregate.

They will now face AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the next qualifying round next month.
