Memela Feels Confidence Is Coming Back

Ahead of AmaZulu’s match against Golden Arrows, Luvuyo Memela believes that scoring three goals in their CAF Champions League victory over Nyasa Big Bullets, will be a big boost to their confidence.

It hasn’t been the best start in the DStv Premiership for Benni McCarthy’s team, who finished second last season, and they are currently 15th, and are yet to win a league game.

But while Memela concedes that CAF and the league are very different, he feels they may be ready to turn a corner.

“It won’t be an easy game,” Memela told AmaZulu’s media department.

“And, you know, playing outside in South Africa and playing the CAF playoffs is not the same as playing in South Africa, in the DSTV Premier League, so it will be a tough game.

“As you know, we haven’t won any game since the season started. So we’re gonna go there and try and do the same thing we did that when played away.”

But Memela feels that after getting three goals in Malawi, their fortunes may be changing.

“No man, as you know, we’ve been creating chances, just that we’re not converting them,” he continued.

“And, you know, it was good. Eventually, when we played away, we managed to score three goals, and I think that’s what we needed.

“I don’t think it’s a problem for us, scoring goals it’s just that we just needed luck. Because we were creating chances, we were missing goals, so it happens sometimes in football where you have to dig deeper and deeper and try until you get get goals, so I think it was good for us to win three goals in the away game, so that we get the confidence of scoring goals.”
