Mngqithi Wary of Speedy Stellenbosch

Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi says that Stellenbosch are very difficult to break down and they need to be wary of their dangerous speedy players.

The league leaders travel to play at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday night, against a Stellenbosch team who after a great start to the season, suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two games.

“It’s a very difficult team to break down,” Mngqithi told the club’s media department. “Though in build-up they look like they play with two centre backs, which is Robertson or Mthethwa, Robyn Johannes, then you also have Macheke who starts more as a six in attack.

“But in defence, you already have him as one of the three centre backs. So that makes them have three centre backs and two wing-backs, and two midfielders in front of Macheke/Kwinika.

“Then on top of that they’ve got three players, and against us, we know the speed is what they’ll always be looking for.

“So they’ve got Du Preez, they’ve got Dimgba, they’ve got Mendieta, and those players will cause us a lot of problems.

“We know very well, even in the last match we played in Stellenbosch last time, they gave us a very good run for our money, but at the end of the day we managed to conquer in the last minute of the game.”
