CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has been released from hospital after recovering from Covid19.
Ahmad will go head to head with Mamelodi Sundowns Owner Patrice Motsepe for the CAF presidency as he seeks a second term. Other candidates who have thrown their names in the hat are Jacques Anouma and Ahmed Yahya.
Ahmad Ahmad, tested positive to Covid19 on October 30th. After a period of isolation and observation at the AS Salam International Hospital in Cairo (Egypt), doctors authorized him to leave on November 11th.
Now not contagious anymore, and with minimal risk of complications, the President of the Confederation of African Football left the hospital to return to his home in Cairo (Egypt). Doctors have prescribed at least 20 days of convalescence, during which he will have to limit his efforts in order to fully recover his energy.
President Ahmad said he would like to personally and sincerely thank all the medical staff of AS Salam International Hospital in Cairo for their support throughout the last 12 days.
He also thanked the work of its Vice-Presidents, as well as the General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football, who have carried out certain missions that the President was unable to accomplish at the time.
