Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gift Motupa says he is excited to play in the newly created DStv Compact Cup.
Motupa, though, will be in action again after a long-term injury that saw him featured only twice in the DStv Premiership for Masandawana this season so far.
The 27-year-old says it will be likely a re-union with some other players since they played together in the national team – and aims to score goals for his side.
“Firstly, I would love to thank the supporters for voting for us. It will be very interesting to be in this cup,” he told club’s media department.
“I am looking forward to seeing the other players and trying new combinations on the field of play. Some of them we have played together in development areas, and others we have played together in the National team.”
“It will be good for match fitness, I am looking forward to scoring goals and winning the trophy.”
Dinaledi will lock horns with Coastal United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 15:00.
