Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says that Kaizer Chiefs need to get maximum points when travel to take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been a regular for Gavin Hunt’s team this season, although he missed last weekend’s win against Mamelodi Sundowns.
He returned for the mid-week loss to Chippa United, a game he feels the team should have won and wrapped up earlier.
Ngcobo says that while it hasn’t been a great season for the club, they can take solace in their performances in the CAF Champions League, where they are in the quarter-finals
“Well, yes, I missed the game against Mamelodi Sundowns. But I really think, as a team, we did very, very well. We played with confidence, and we applied the plan correctly. And we managed to get three points, “Ngcobo told the club’s media department.
“And then after that, I came back against the Chippa United. While things didn’t go away, we lost the game. But I think we should have scored maybe in the first thirty minutes, but we couldn’t.”
“So ja, we’ll just have to focus on our next game, which is Bloemfontein Celtic. It won’t be easy, but we are prepared and we’re gonna make sure that you go there and get maximum points.”
“Well as the league, it’s towards the end now, I think it hasn’t been a great season for us as a team, but I think there are a lot of positives that we can we can take and build on them.”
“So ja, it was a season which was not good, but I think somewhere we did very well. In the CAF, ja, we we broke some records. Ja, I think we just have to keep our heads up and finish the season in a better position.
