Olde Riekerink Excited About Shonga Impact

Cape Town City Head Coach Jan Olde Riekerink says he is excited about the signing of Zambian international Justin Shonga.

Shonga was announced by the club on Tuesday, having joined from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

The former Orlando Pirates player has signed a contract until 2024.

City’s Dutch coach says that Shonga has already shown signs at training of what he could potentially deliver.

Olde Riekerink adds that while it is still early days, he thinks once he settles at the club, he could be special, as he all the attributes to be a good striker.

“I am very excited and happy to have Justin in the team,” Olde Riekerink said about the signing.

“He is a very talented player from what I’ve seen. I have also heard a lot of good things about his character from some of our players who know him well.”

“We believe he is a player who will contribute a lot up front, he has so many good attributes of a top striker.”

“I already saw some things I like about him in the first training session so we look forward to seeing how he fits into the team.”
