Richards Bay Back In Pole Position

Richards Bay returned to the summit of the GladAfrica Championship table, despite only drawing their match played on the weekend.

With the Natal Rich Boyz involvement in the Nedbank Cup, Sekhukhune United had used the opportunity to sneak ahead, and led the table for the past two weeks, on goal difference.

However this weekend Steenberg United upset the apple cart and beat Sekhukhune 1-0 on Saturday.

And while Richards Bay were held at home in a goalless draw by Cape Town Spurs, it was enough for Simo Dladla’s team to go ahead on the table, and they also still have a game in hand over Sekhukhune.

Third-placed Royal AM’s 2-0 win over Bizana Pondo Chiefs, saw them join Sekhukhune on 31 points.

TS Sporting, who beat JDR Stars 3-1, moved into fourth spot. JDR are fifth.

There was also a second consecutive win for AmaTuks, who jumped up to 8th spot with their 2-1 victory away at Cape Town All Stars.
