Sekhukhune United grabbed a later winner as they beat SuperSport United 1-0 as both teams ended with ten men, while Marumo Gallants’ run in the CAF Confederation Cup came to an end as they drew 0-0 with TP Mazembe

Sekhukhune beat SuperSport 1-0 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
There was some early chances for the visitors as Tshediso Patjie and Pogiso Mahlangu shot wide in the opening five minutes, while Iqraam Rayners went wide in the 7th minute for SuperSport.
Sekhukhune suffered a set back when Vusimuzi Mncube was shown a straight red by Victor Gomes in just the seventh minute for a late foul on Rayners.
A second red card followed, this time for SuperSport in the 15th minute, as debutant Thalente Mbatha was sent off for a tackle on Cheslyn Jampies.
Yusuf Maart shot wide in the 20th minute, whole Thamsanqa Gabuza’s header in the 25th minute was also off target. Gabuza went just wide in the 38th minute, as both teams continued to create chances but not trouble the goalkeepers.
It remained goalless at halftime.
Rayners effort in the 59th minute was high and wide, as both teams continued to not test the goalkeepers, with neither Ronwen Williams or Toaster Nsabata having to make a save in the opening hour.
Jesse Donn’s effort was deflected wide in the 65th minute, as was Gabuza and Rayners’ efforts.
Finally Williams was called into action in the 72nd minute, as first he did well to deny Nkanyiso Madonsela, before a point blank save from a Willard Katsande header from the corner that followed.
Nsabata got into the action in the 75th minute, saving an attempt from Jamie Webber.
Tshediso Patjie put Sekhukhune into the lead in the 87th minute, as he raced clear before beating Williams.
A good win for Macdonald Makhubedu’s team, who climb up to second on the log, eight points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.
Marumo Gallants 0-0 TP Mazembe
Gallants and Mazembe drew 0-0 in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff round match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
Mazembe had won the first leg in Lubumbashi 1-0.
There were no goals in the first half in Polokwane, as Marumo sought the goal they needed to get back into the tie.
Celimpilo Ngema had a good chance three minutes into the second half, but went wide of the target.
Chances were few and far between, as Mazembe held onto their first leg lead.
It ended goalless and Marumo’s run in the CAFCC comes to an end.
