Tembo Feels Prepared For Arrows Clash

SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo is expecting a tough MTN8 quarter-final against Golden Arrows, and says their coaching change won’t affect Arrow’s philosophy.

The two teams meet in Durban on Saturday afternoon and Tembo will be looking for SuperSport’s first win against Arrows since 2019.

The SuperSport coach doesn’t feel that Lehlohonolo Seema replacing Mandla Ncikazi as coach will change too many things at the club, and warns how dangerous their opponents can be.

But the Zimbabwean-born coach remains confident his side can prevail and reach the semi finals.

“Coming to the game against Arrows, it is a tough game,” Tembo told the media.

“Like I said, we are playing away from home, they are very good team, though they have changed the coaches but they haven’t really changed their philosophy, they’re still playing the short passing game, the build up from the back and sometime play on transition, looking to play ball behind, with Knox Mutizwa leading the front line.

“So they haven’t really changed much you know in terms of their philosophy so it’s still gonna be a very tough game.

“But like I said, I think we are very prepared, we are ready, we will give as much as we get, it’s a game that we  want to win and go through to the semi finals, because once you win the quarter finals it gives you an extra two games which we are looking for (going) forward.”
