While Maritzburg United respect their DStv Premiership opponents on Wednesday, Tebogo Tlolane says they are targeting points against log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Team of Choice drew 1-1 with Sundowns in the first round in December in Pietermaritzburg, and the now 12th-placed side are hoping to get a result in Tshwane.
Tlolane, who has scored once in his 19 appearances this season, says they need to give their all in the 90 minutes, as the club need the points to get further away from the bottom of the table
“Ja, obviously we know it’s a very big game, especially coming against such a big team with good players, but we know what we have to do,: Tlolane told the club’s media department.
“And we go into this game fully focused on getting three points, we’re not gonna go there thinking that we’re going to lose the game.”
“So ja, we’re preparing well, obviously coming from a mixed result where we feel like we should have won. But we know at this time, we need points.”
“So whether it’s three point or a draw for us, we just need points on the on the bag for us in this time of the season. Obviously, in the first round, we got a draw, but we know in football that anything’s possible, but we take nothing away from the opponent we playing. “
“They are obviously the team that they are, with the great players they have, and we have to respect that. But when it comes to football. It’s what you do on a day. And we’re gonna go there fully focussed, we also know what we can achieve in the game and our capabilities.”
“We just have to believe in ourselves to be honest and give it all and ja, we’ll see 90 minutes, we only have 90 minutes and we’ll give our all.”
