Umoya Recruit Mayambela, Morton And Gumede

Cape Umoya United have confirmed their squad for the 2020/21 season, and amongst the new recruits are three former Orlando Pirates players.

Mark Mayambela, Tshepo Gumede and Michael Morton have all signed for the Cape Town team.

The players all share a history with club director Roger De Sa, who himself is a former Pirates coach, although Morton played for De Sa when he was on loan at Bidvest Wits.

While Mayambela didn’t really feature under De Sa during his coaching tenure at Pirates, De Sa also signed the Cape Town-born player, when he was at Ajax Cape Town.

Umoya released their squad on Thursday, and there are some interesting new names at the club, including Zimbabwean teen sensation Douglas Mapfumo, and Mozambican Herman Mpepo.
