SuperSport United captain Ronwen Williams is pleased with his team’s start to the season, and wants to add three more points when they face AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership later today.
SuperSport are unbeaten after their opening two games, with a win and a draw, and victory today could see them join Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the table.
But Williams knows it won’t be easy away against Benni McCarthy’s team, even if last season’s league runners-up have had a disappointing start to the campaign.
“We are happy with the start to our league campaign,” Williams told the club’s media department.
“We’ve got four points out of our first two games. Obviously, we are happy. It’s not easy playing Cape Town City away, as well as Golden Arrows. I mean, they are the teams that has given us hard times over the last few years, so to get four points off them, we are proud and we are happy.
“Coming up against AmaZulu, it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be a tough one.
“They obviously haven’t had the best start to their campaign, so they are looking to get their campaign rolling. But we just gonna focus on ourselves, focus on what we can do, focus on our strength.
“We’ve planned well, we’ve analysed them well and the technical team has come up with a good game plan to beat them. It’s not going to be easy playing them away, but we believe they are beatable.
“We are going to go out there and fight and hopefully we can be victorious.”
