Zinnbauer Confirms Pirates Close To New Striker
Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has confirmed that highly-rated striker Kwame Peprah is currently undergoing his medical at the club.
The Buccaneers have been on the hunt for a new forward amid their injury crisis upfront, with Tshegofatso Mabasa and Zakhele Lepasa still sidelined with injuries.
According to reports in local media, Pirates have identified Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah from King Faisal as another option upfront.
Zinnbauer was asked about the 20-year-old and confirmed that the player had his medical with the club ahead of his imminent move.
“Yes, I want to see him,” the German coach said during a press conference.
“He has his medical check now. I can’t say more, he is not at the training session now.”
Zinnbauer was asked about other transfer activities of his club but once refused to comment.
“About signings, we don’t talk about signings in a press conference for the MTN8. You (must) understand this please,” he explained.
“Signings are always a part of internal.”
According to Kick Off, Peprah has been offered a three-year contract at Orlando Stadium after scoring 12 goals in 32 appearances in the Ghanian Premier League in 2020/21.
The defending champions will face Swallows FC in the quarter-final of the MTN8 on Saturday.
