Zinnbauer Happy About Pirates Line-Up
Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has revealed he was happy when he saw the line-up the Buccaneers’ fans selected for the Carling Black Label Cup.
The German tactician will experience his first Carling Cup on Sunday and was in a good mood in the build-up to the match.
He thanked the club’s supporters for picking a strong team to face rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday when his side will attempt to defend their title from 2019.
“Con gratulations to the fans, the supporters make a good team for us. They chose a really, really good team and maybe this time we won’t have seven defenders on the field. We have now more offence,” he told reporters.
“We can give our champion coach a little bit more structure, I think he will have an easier management now. I have to say it’s so important. I prefer the coach to get a little bit information and you get also we can also give a little bit information to the supporters, because one supporter is directly the head coach in this game.
“And this is top. We can support the supporters of our team and also he can transfer the information from an internal voice, the experience he had in this time and it’s a fantastic idea.
“It’s not so easy to handle for as a head coach, I’m honest. Then you sit on the bench and you have nothing to say. The head coach says sit down and he goes on the line.
“But thank you Carling. Thank you to the guys who had the idea and I hope we go forward and we want a good result, we want to win the game and also I think Chiefs have the same idea, but we fight for the first result.”
Pirates won the 2019 edition of the tournament, beating Amakhosi 2-0, while they are also the record champions of the pre-season clash, having lifting it five times so far.
