Zwane Wants To Be Better Than Last Season

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Themba Zwane has sent a warning that the best is yet to come from him this season.

Zwane was speaking after winning the first player of the month award of the 2020/21 season.

Last season’s footballer of the year is already leading the goal-scoring charts this season, having netted six times in the opening six games.

“I’m feeling good, especially that I have won this trophy,” Zwane said.

“The aim was to start on a high note and to be consistent, and to try to help my team to win. I wanted to work hard for the team, I’m happy that I started well.”

“My aim now is to improve the Themba Zwane of last season and to win trophies with my team.”

Zwane thinks it is possible for Sundowns to surpass their highest goal tally in a season of 71 with this current attack.

“We can do it, with the quality players that we have and the way we started and be consistent, we can do it.”

Zwane feels with Kermit Erasmus and Peter Shalulile recruited the goals will flow.

“It’s been good for me because those 2 guys, they really work hard and you know, what I’m happy about is that we understand each other. We will keep on pushing, we will try to trade more goals, score more goals, and work as a team. What makes me the happiest is that we understand each other very well, and that makes things easier for us on the field.”
