Done deal: Mothiba Lands New Club

South Africa international striker Lebo Mothiba has penned a short-term deal with Mamelodi Sundowns until the end of the season. Mothiba, 29, has been a free agent since parting ways with Ligue 1 club RSC Strasbourg in the off-season where he spent six years at. He’s return of 20 goals and six assists in 96 games didn’t make for bad reading, his injury troubles, having suffered a recurring knee injury saw the two parties agree for a new venture. After links with several clubs in Europe and a move to Standard Liege falling through, Mothiba spent time in Germany with

Bafana B & Egypt Draw In Bloem

Bafana Bafana’s CHAN squad drew 1-1 with Egypt in their CHAN2024 qualifier at the Free State Stadium on Sunday evening. It was a makeshift side that took the field, with the qualifiers not falling during FIFA international windows, and with former Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki enlisted to lead the team.  It was a similar situation for the Egyptian coach Wael Alaaeldin Reyad’s selection, with a squad made up of players from some of the country’s less glamorous and second division clubs, though not a U20 team as had been earlier reported, with only two players under 25 included in the

Muzomuhle Khanyi scored deep in the second half, but that wasn’t enough for the Hungry Lions.  ORBIT College dropped two points in a goalless draw against Venda Football Club. They have dropped four points in the last two games and dented their title hopes.  Cape Town Spurs came from a goal down to secure much-needed three points. Siyabonga

Bafana XI v Egypt

Molefi Ntseki has named his starting XI for this afternoon’s CHAN qualifier against Egypt in Bloemfontein. The two countries will meet in these additional qualifiers for this year’s tournament to be hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Two teams must still book their places at the finals, and this second qualification campaign was confirmed at the draw last month. The winner between Bafana and Egypt will take on the winner between Comoros and Malawi. While Bafana assistant Helman Mkhalele was originally pencilled in to lead the team, Ntseki was ‘called up’ last week instead after Mkhalele was recused to focus on the

Mohafe Aims For CAFCC Spot

Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe is aiming for the CAF inter-club spot, as his side stayed in fourth spot on the log. City missed an opportunity to go into third place following a last-minute 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch on Friday night at Danie Craven Stadium. Despite being four league matches without a win, Mohafe still believes they can fight for that third

Cardoso – Why We Substituted Mudau

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has given more insight into why they substituted Khuliso Mudau when they did in their 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. Mudau had only recently returned from an injury, and Cardoso was asked whether there were any concerns that he had perhaps been brought back too soon. It was just the second start for Mudau in the league in 2025, the last coming in January. But Cardoso explained that they had always planned to replace Mudau with Thapelo Morena, as they look to manage the condition of their players. “No, he didn’t come

Why Bafana Midfielders Lucrative Jan Transfer Broke Down

Bafana Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux looked poised for another important move for his career before the start of the 2025 Allsvenskan season, but it’s been put on hold with IFK Värnamo unwilling to entertain offers for his services. Le Roux, 24, returned to Sweden with Värnamo after the relegation of FC Volendam from the Dutch Eredivisie and immediately stood out as one of their key players in a league he’s been familiar with, having played for three seasons in the division with Varbergs BoIS. One game short of 100 appearances for the club meant he was well versed in
