Former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter has survived a serious relegation scare with his club Helsinborgs IF in Sweden.
Baxter, 70, returned to Sweden after his latest stint with Chiefs and was initially appointed as Technical Director by his former club.
But when then-coach Alvaro Santos struggled to get results early in the season, the Brazilian was dismissed after starting with three defeats and Baxter stepped in.
From the following 27 games, Baxter managed to collect eight wins, nine draws in comparison to their 10 defeats.
The 33 points was enough to avoid relegation by a matter of goal difference, despite losing their final match of the campaign against Skovede AIK, who finished one spot behind Helsingborgs.
Former Chiefs defender Cole Alexander joined Baxter at Helsingborgs in August and made seven appearances for the club, scoring an important goal in their 2-0 win over Brage on match day 29, which pushed Helsingborgs out of the relegation zone.
It remains to be seen whether Alexander, whose contract ran until the end of the campaign, will stay in Sweden or look for a new challenge.
