Davids’ Simba Bounce Back With Win To Move Third

Fadlu Davids’ Simba SC returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Tanzania Prisons in the NBC Premier League on Tuesday evening to move third on the log standings.

The Reds of Msimbazi came into this tie on the back of a 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Young Africans in the Kariakoo Derby at the weekend thus condemning them to their first league loss of the new campaign.

Davids and his charges were determined to get back to winning ways and had Malone Junior to thank for as his only goal of the match, a fifth-minute strike in the first-half, was enough to see them collect maximum points on the road.

Their rivals Yanga also picked up three points as they beat JKT Tanzania 2-0 to move second one point behind league leaders Singida Black Stars on 19 points. Miguel Gamondi’s charges are the only ones who have a 100% record since the 2024/25 campaign got underway.
