Former Mamelodi Sundowns strength and conditioning coach Riedoh Berdien has landed himself a new job after joining the Philippines national football team.
Berdien, who left Sundowns in 2023, has vast experience with national teams, having previously worked with Banyana Banyana, Togo, The Gambia and Trinidad and Tobago.
At the Philippines, Berdien links up with his former mentor Tom Saintfiet again after both already successfully worked at The Gambia.
“Riedoh has signed a two-year agreement with the PFF,” Rasthoem Simons of 5sSports told iDiski Times.
“Another milestone in his career and showcasing his ability as one of the best conditioning coaches on the continent.”
Berdien is one of two physical coaches and will work alongside Philippines coach Aristotle Andrey in the technical team of Saintfiet.
“We have Riedoh Berdien, a South African, who has worked with many national teams in different continents,” Saintfiet said this weekend.
“He’s worked with me in Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, Togo, Bangladesh. He also worked in Anguila, Botswana and the women’s national team in South Africa.”
