Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has addressed his future after their 4-1 defeat to Maghreb de Fès in the Botola Pro on Saturday evening.
Wydad came into the game after back-to-back draws to title-chasing sides ASFAR and RCA Zemamra but found themselves on the receiving end of a humiliating result to a club in disarray with an interim coaching set-up and multiple issues on non-payment in the squad.
Despite their issues, they took advantage of Wydad going down to ten men in the opening ten minutes, profiting in the second half with three unanswered goals as fatigue kicked in.
“Only the President [Hicham Ait Menna] and the board know [what will happen]. I have a contract, yes, we are Wydad and we should never lose like that, and that’s why I apologise to the club, everybody at the club, to the supporters, especially, they deserve better,” Mokwena said.

“The supporters deserve so much better, and what the future holds? It’s for the club to decide. Me – I want to be here, and that’s what’s important. My desire, my heart, my heart is Wydad. I love this club, I want to help this club and I do my best.
“But you know, you have to win games, as a coach you have to win games and at the moment we are not winning enough games, that’s the reality and I have to take responsibility for that.”
The result saw Wydad drop down to sixth place in the league, 12 points off league leaders RS Berkane who have a game in hand.
