Another Hollywoodbets Super League Match Postponed Due To Safety Concerns

Week 23 of the Hollywoodbets Super League saw yet another fixture which was scheduled for the King Zwelithini stadium postponed for safety reasons.

It was the match between Durban Ladies and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Two matches set for the same venue last week were also postponed following protests by a group of people with fire arms.

Sundowns still maintain second position on the log with 50 points from 19 matches, while the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit are ninth with 31 points in 21 outings.

Meanwhile, a Noxolo Cesane brace and an Amogelang Motau strike ensured that University of Western Cape stretched their lead at the top of the table to 10 points, as they defeated Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) 3-1 in the mother city. The Varsity Cup champions have 60 points at the summit from 22 matches, while TUT are 11th with 21 points from as many matches.

JVW Football Club maintained third spot on the log following a 4-0 victory over City Lads in Tsakane. Keolebogile Putu scored a hat-trick, while Bongiwe Thusi converted a penalty to see the Blue Diamonds narrow the gap between themselves and Sundowns to just three points but they have played three times more. The Lads are placed 13th with 17 points also from 22 matches.

Royal AM were the other high-scorers from the weekend as the defeated Coal City Wizards 5-2 at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. The result sees Royal AM in fourth position and just a point adrift JVW on the stnadings in 22 outings, while the Mpumalanga side are just about the relegation zone with 13 points from 23 matches.
