Simba SC have shown interest in Fadlu Davids as their search for a new head coach continues.
The Raja Atheltic Club assistant coach comes off the back of an Invincible Botola Pro-winning campaign alongside Josef Zinnbauer, whom he’s worked alongside with at Orlando Pirates and Lokomotiv Moscow.
They are also in the Moroccan Throne Cup final against ASFAR, who they pipped to the league title, which could result in a monumental unbeaten domestic season, should they lift the title this weekend.
However, interest is rising in both Zinnbauer and Davids due to their incredible exploits, with this website being informed the Simba board has been left impressed by Davids and considers his CV as the ideal young modern coach to potentially build a new project.
This publication reached out to David’s agent, who confirmed interest in the former Orlando Pirates co-coach, but insisted he is fully focussed on Raja ahead of the Throne Cup final against Nasreddine Nabi’s ASFAR.
“There has been interest in the services of Coach Fadlu but the coach is currently only focused on the task at hand with Raja and the future of the team’s journey into the CAF champions league next season,” Rasthoem Simons of 5sSports told iDiski Times.
Steve Komphela held an interview with Simba earlier this month, however, the board member who facilitated the initial interest, has since resigned which has seen the club’s interest cool down in recent weeks.
Simba are aiming to replace Algerian Abdelhak Benchikha, in what would be their seventh coaching change in four years with Sven Vandenbroeck, Didier Gomes, Pablo Franco, Zoran Manojlovic, Robertinho, and Dani Cadena in the hot seat since 2020.
