Nabi Gives Update Ahead Of Chiefs Move

Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed he will be in charge of the Moroccan Throne Cup final with ASFAR ahead of his imminent move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The incoming Amakhosi head coach was poised to join the Soweto giants on June 24, a day after the semi-final with the date for the final originally set to be in July.

However, it’s been suggested it will take place on 30 June, with the winner between Raja Atheltic Club and MC Oudja to take on Nabi and his troops in the final.

After his side’s 2-0 semi-final win over MAS de Fes, the Tunisian tactician has provided clarity on his immediate future.

“This is not my last match,” he said on Sunday evening.

“The final match is still approaching us, and according to my friends in the Raja team, they know that the final match will be on the 30th of June.

“Therefore, I am still continuing [and am contracted] with my team to the final.”

The Tunisian’s technical team with Chiefs is already taking shape, with First Assistant Coach and former Technical Director at ASFAR, Fernando Da Cruz already in South Africa, alongside new Goalkeeper Coach Ilyes Mzoughi.
