Spurs Could Part Ways With Veteran Defender

Cape Town Spurs could part ways with veteran defender Clayton Daniels, with the club keen for him to take on a role in the technical team but the player intent on playing further.

Daniels joined Urban Warriors in July 2022 after leaving Maritzburg United. The former SuperSport United defender immediately helped the side to gain promotion via promotional playoffs.

After his contract expired in July 2023, Spurs extended his stay with the club for another year, as they were looking to use his experience in the DStv Premiership.

But a close source confirmed to iDiski Times that the 39-year-old hasn’t been training with the club for almost a week.

There had been talk of Daniels taking up a role in the technical team, but it seems the veteran remains intent on playing.

The struggling Spurs recently announced the signings of Mogamad De Goede, Katlego Maphathe, Gadiel Kamagi and promoted Siviwe Nkwali – all to strengthen their defence, adding more competition to Daniels.
