Official: Cooper Joins Moroccan Outfit

Botswana international midfielder Mothusi Cooper has signed a three-year deal with Botola Pro outfit MC Oujda.

Cooper has widely been regarded as one of the most talented players to emerge from Botswana in recent years and only signed for the CAF Champions League participants in December.

SuperSport United and Sekhukhune were two clubs in South Africa reportedly keen on his services, the 24-year-old has put pen to paper with the Morrocan top-flight side.

Cooper, who’s been capped seven times by the Zebras has experience in the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League and has turned out for the likes of Lusaka Dynamos, Township Rollers and Extension Gunners.

He’s long been mooted to make the switch to South Africa but the move to North Africa looks set to provide him with the platform to further his career of ultimately playing in Europe.

Galaxy, who are set for their debut campaign in the Champions League group stage under South African coach Morena Ramoreboli – will now be aiming to swiftly find a replacement before the transfer window shuts.
