Al Ahly and Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has welcomed the move of national teammate Fagrie Lakay to Egyptian Premier League rivals, Pyramids FC.
Lakay was signed by the EPL side from Cape Town City last week, in a move that took many by surprise.
Tau has been in Egypt since August last year, having himself made a move that surprised many when he opted to leave English Premiership side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking exclusively to iDiski Times journalist Lorenz Kohler, who is at the Club World Cup in United Arab Emirates, Tau welcomed Lakay to Egypt.
“No I haven’t spoken to him,” Tau told iDiski Times.
“But then I congratulate him on the move.
“It is good to get out of South Africa., let him come this side and see how things are.
“But I think he’ll do well, I think he’ll do well!”
Tau was speaking after Al Ahly beat Monterrey 1-0 to advance to the Club World Cup semis.
