Siwelele caretaker coach Godfrey Mosoetsa has opened up on the tactical surprise of fielding Christian
Saile against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mosoetsa, the experienced development coach was moved from the DStv Diski Challenge set-up to oversee the fixture against Sundowns after the exits of Lehlohonolo Seema and Musa Bilankulu this week.

While they were on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat against the league leaders at Loftus Versfeld, the DR Congo forward caused the Masandawana defence some trouble early on in the game.
It was his first start in the 2026/27 season, at the club he’s yet to open his account for in 22 games, since the rebranding from SuperSport United.
Speaking on the current squad at the club, where 25 players exited in the off-season, and 15 were signed, Mosoetsa believes there’s room for improvement from an attacking perspective.
“I think there’s potential and room for improvement, if you look at the strikers we have at the moment, the one that was a surprise, was us having to play Saile, I mean Sundowns didn’t expect, of all people, we would play Saile,” he said.
“And the way he played, if he could have carried on playing like that and the players understanding that, what we wanted to achieve from him, he gave them a lot of problems and unexpectedly.
“It could have been a different ball game, I’m not saying we could have won it, but had we capitalised on those chances… it was something that surprised them, we knew what to expect from Sundowns, we know how they play.”
The club are now winless with four defeats and two draws in their opening six games of the league campaign and face Golden Arrows this weekend before the upcoming FIFA International break.
