Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has been named among the 10 nominees for the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Williams, 31, has had an outstanding first campaign at Masandawana, breaking the DStv Premiership clean sheet record held by Moeneeb Josephs.
He’s also had some standout displays in the CAF Champions League, as well as for Bafana Bafana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
Williams’ fine form hasn’t gone unnoticed and he’s been nominated for the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award, but he will have to fend off goalkeepers such as Manchester United’s Andre Onana, as well as Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, who won the UEFA Europa League with Sevilla before his move to Al Hilal, and also helped the Atlas lions to finish fourth at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants have also been nominated in the Men’s Club of the Year category following both side’s runs to the CAF inter club semi-finals.
This year’s CAF awards will take place on 11 December in Marrakesh, Morocco.
