Young Africans SC coach Nasreddine Nabi has been named 2022/23 NBC Premier League Coach of the Season after claiming the treble.
On Monday, Yanga beat Azam 1-0 in the Tanzanian FA Cup final to complete the treble after the already secured the Tanzanian Premier League and the Community Shield.
It marked the end of an incredible campaign for the Tanzanian giants, with a quadruple only being denied after losing to USM Alger in the CAF Confederations Cup final on away goals.
However, it was the first ever continental final for Yanga, after they knocked out Marumo Gallants in the semi-final.
After a clean sweep of domestic silverware for a second season in a row, with Yanga winning back-to-back trebles, the 57-year-old was named NBC Premier League Coach of the Season at Monday night’s award to round off a fantastic 2022/23 campaign.
As Yanga’s season has now officially been wrapped up, Nabi has officially engaged in contract talks with Kaizer Chiefs, as reported by iDiski Times.
First contacts were made around two weeks ago after the Tunisian coach rejected an offer from Yanga to extend his contract, which runs out in the end of the month.
Nabi is understood to be looking for a new challenge and previously received concrete offers from Raja Club Athletic, Wydad Athletic Club and Esperance in recent months but rejected their advances not wanting to leave Yanga in the period when their league campaign was not concluded and still competing for two cups.
