SuperSport United have confirmed the return of midfielder Grant Margeman on a permanent deal.
Margeman, 24, has signed a three-year contract as part of the transfer that saw Thapelo Maseko head in the opposite direction.
Gavin Hunt’s side, who finished third in the DStv Premiership last season and are set for the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2023/24 campaign are also closing in on a loan move for Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro from Masandawana.
The return of Margeman represents a huge coup for Hunt, who did not hide his desire to retain him and midfield partner Siphisihle Ndlovu, who spent the season on loan from Orlando Pirates and has since also joined on a permanent deal.
Margeman, who won the club’s Players’ Player of the Season award last campaign, will now be aiming for a place in the national team with the Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
He featured 26 times for SuperSport, scoring two goals and registering three assists in an impressive midfield partnership with Ndlovu.
