Ramovic Suffers Early CAFCL Exit With Yanga

Young Africans have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League in the final match of Group A – which many dubbed as the Group of Death.

It represents a disappointing end to their campaign in the competition of a three-game unbeaten run that gave them a fighting chance of qualification at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium this afternoon in Dar es Salaam.

Needing a win over Algerian Ligue 1 champions MC Alger, they were held at home to a 0-0 draw despite dominating the game for large spells with 69% of the ball and 18 attempts at goal, to MCA’s three over the gruelling 90 minutes.

The result saw them miss out on qualification by one point, while Al Hilal finished as group winners despite losing their final game to TP Mazembe 4-0 in Lubumbashi.
