Official: Chiefs Make Decision On Ntseki

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed head coach Molefi Ntseki has parted ways via mutual consent after their Carling Knockout Cup exit.

AmaZulu dumped Chiefs out the domestic competition with a late 1-0 win at FNB Stadium as Taariq Fielies found the net.

It proved to be the second cup exit of the 2023/24 campaign after the MTN8 and they currently sit eighth in the league, 13 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns after nine games.

With the expectations rising after a significant outlay in the transfer market, it appears he’s not met the demands, and following multiple fan incidents with supporters expressing their grievances towards Ntseki the club announced his exit with immediate effect.

“Following a meeting on Monday morning, Molefi Ntseki’s tenure as Head Coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent,” the club said via a statement on Monday.

“Given the recent run of disappointing results, the parties agreed that this was the best course of action under the prevailing circumstances.

“Cavin Johnson, who recently joined Chiefs as Head of the Youth Development Academy, will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis.”

The 54-year-old who was appointed in the role after his stint as Head of Technical and Development lasted 13 games, with four wins, three draws and six defeats.
