CAFCC Final: Pirates vs Berkane XI’s Announced!

Orlando Pirates and RS Berkane face off in the CAF Confederation Cup final where the winner takes all – here is how the two sides line up in Uyo Nigeria this evening!

Pirates come into the game having lost the second leg semi-final against Al Ahli at Orlando Stadium but can take confidence in several commanding displays away from home throughout their impressive run.

Berkane trounced ten-men TP Mazembe at home 4-1 to book their spot in the final but have shown struggles on their travels in the competition with a run of six away games without victory.

While it is a neutral venue for both sides, Pirates defender Olisa Ndah won the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title with Akwa United at the same ground which Mandla Ncikazi admits they sought to get an advantage from upon their arrival on Thursday.

“I hope it works to our advantage, he helped us with the adaptation, familiarising ourselves with the environment, I think that should give us an advantage. It should be a fair approach in terms of the match in terms of playing in a neutral venue, there’s no home and away – it’s an off-once [game],” Ncikazi said ahead of the game.

“We’re approaching the game to give our best, there’s no second chance, it’s a final played in a neutral venue, Pirates must just impose their game and try everything to win the match, that’s our approach, while we’re aware of the strengths of the opponents, we have our strengths which we need to impose on them.”
