Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele says it hasn’t been an easy season for the side and himself personally saying come backs require mental resilience.
This is Cele’s second season in the Betway Premiership and it has been interrupted by injuries as he’s only featured 16 times in the league and missing the chunk of the side’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

His absence sometimes has been a matter of the rotation system at the club and competition with the likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu and Lebohang Maboe.
He’s recently returned to the squad and played in the last four encounters helping Amakhosi rise on the log.
The 29-year-old spoke to the Chiefs media team ahead of the crucial league game away at Mamelodi Sundowns which ended 1-1, where he reflected on his time out.
The former South African junior international said it has been a mental fight but he is pleased to be able to play a role in the last games of the season.
“Of course, like I said, me as an individual also it’s not been easy because you want to reach a certain level and a certain standard,” said Cele.
“But when things are not working out for you, you need to remain calm and just keep on working like what I’ve been doing.
“So, me coming back and trying to help the team in these last few games is something that I’ve been working towards, since I’ve been out for so many games.
“So, it’s a mental thing, to always be up for a comeback all the time you know. So that’s football. That’s how it goes. Sometimes you’re down, sometimes you’re up and then you’re down and try to bring yourself back.
“So that’s what I’ve been trying to do and I’m still at it, you know what I mean.”
