The Premier Soccer Soccer League (PSL) has announced the award winners for August, as well as September and October.
AUGUST WINNERS
The decision for August appeared much easier than for September and October, with Rulani Mokwena and Lucas Ribeiro winning the monthly accolades for the start of the season.
Mokwena was named Coach of the Month after Sundowns won all their six opening matches DStv Premiership in August, beating Sekhukhune United, Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows, Chippa United, Richards Bay and Polokwane City.
Ribeiro scored four goals in his first five league matches for Masandawana, which earned him the Player of the Month award.
Meanwhile, the Goal of the Month for August went to Kaizer Chiefs’ Pule Mmodi for his stunning strike against Stellenbosch FC.
SEP/OCT WINNERS
With only five rounds of fixtures between the two months, the PSL opted to join the two months for the judging of the Coach, Player and Goal of the Month honours.
Mamelodi Sundowns may have been high-flying, but due to the FIFA international break as well as their Carling Knockout Cup and CAF inter-club commitments, they only played two DStv Premiership matches in which the panel of judges were requested to judge.
Golden Arrows head coach Mabhuti Khenyeza, in his first season as a sole head coach scooped the Coach of the Month honour, the first of his career after leading the club to three wins and a draw in their four matches, moving them within the top-three of the standings.
Bradley Grobler pipped Khanyisa Mayo to the Player of the Month title, with five goals and an assist in four games as he inspired SuperSpoer United to three wins in four games.
And TS Galaxy striker Samir Nurkovic secured the Goal of the Month with a stunning strike in their 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United, which marked his first goal for the Rockets.
